The Ritz closing

The Ritz, a famous luxury hotel situated in Place Vendôme has closed its doors more than a year due to renovation. Indeed, the palace will undergo a major renovation, which seems to have its origin in the fact that in 2011, the hotel has not got the new label "palace", unlike the hôtel Meurice or Plaza Athénée. This highlights the growing competition in luxury hospitality and the endless demands of the rich clientele. At its next opening in 2013, we can imagine that the Ritz will adapt to modern means of communications in order to better satisfy its customers. This renovation promises to be stunning, especially with the creation of a gourmet restaurant under glass and integration of new technologies. The direction taken by the Ritz in its renovation is probably in order to target a younger audience, and perhaps richer. The Ritz is then acquired a certain modernity, which will undoubtedly be spectacular. The luxury hotels have never an acquired success, it must be constantly in a renewed quest in order to satisfy on the one hand the many requirements of its customers, but also those of hospitality professionals. Among the 460 employees who all have the guarantee to retrieve their job after the reopening, about 300 of them have chosen to quit on their own chief. Sixty have already a found a new position when twenty others are enrolled a training program. The hotel should reopen during the summer of 2014. The cost of the renovation will be about 140 million euros.
